Wenkbrauwen zijn een zeer belangrijk element in je uiterlijk. Als je niet tevreden bent met de dichtheid van je wenkbrauwen, kun je kiezen voor een wenkbrauwtransplantatie. Er zijn verschillende redenen om dat te willen. Als je wenkbrauwen bijvoorbeeld niet uit zichzelf willen groeien, of als je wenkbrauwen erg smal zijn of dunner zijn geworden door een bepaalde ziekte. Wenkbrauwtransplantatie wordt uitgevoerd volgens percutaan techniek. Wij zijn momenteel de enige in Nederland die met percutaan techniek een wenkbrauwtransplantatie uitvoeren.

Waarom worden wenkbrauwen dunner of vallen uit?

Veroudering: hormonen veranderen naarmate we ouder worden, en als gevolg hiervan kan haaruitval in de wenkbrauwen optreden.

Gebrek aan voeding: slechte voeding of vitaminetekort kan ervoor zorgen dat wenkbrauwen uitvallen.

Hypothyreoïdie: de schildklier produceert mogelijk niet de benodigde hormonen.

Chemotherapie: medicijnen die gebruikt worden bij chemotherapie zijn gemaakt om kankercellen te verslaan, maar helaas kunnen ze ook de cellen van de haarzakjes aanvallen en ervoor zorgen dat haren uitvallen.

Allereerst vindt er een consult plaats. De gewenste vorm van de wenkbrauwen wordt afgetekend. Er wordt een bloedtest uitgevoerd en alleen op een kleine deel aan de achterkant (donorgebied) van het hoofd wordt haar weggeschoren. In dit stadium wordt gebruik gemaakt van pijnloze lokale anesthesie.

Deze fase omvat het verwijderen van haarzakjes uit het donorgebied. De haarzakjes worden verwijderd met behulp van een micromotor met 0,7 of 0,8 mm ponspunten, en dus wordt het haarzakje met inbegrip van de haarwortel verwijderd. Alleen het relevante haarzakje wordt verwijderd zonder ander weefsel te beschadigen. Bij wenkbrauwtransplantatie worden vooral haarzakjes met dunne haren verwijderd. Dit komt omdat de haartjes op de wenkbrauwen dun zijn. Haartjes met dunne haren hebben een wenkbrauwstructuur. Op deze manier wordt een natuurlijk uiterlijk op de wenkbrauwen verkregen. De verwijderde haarzakjes worden verzameld in een speciale oplossing om de levensduur van de haarzakjes te waarborgen.

Deze fase, dat wil zeggen het openen van de kanalen, is het belangrijkste proces van wenkbrauwtransplantatie. Nadat het lokale anesthesieproces is voltooid, wordt het kanaalopeningsproces alleen door de gespecialiseerde expert uitgevoerd met behulp van een dunne percutaan naald. Als de geopende kanalen de juiste hoeken en richtingen hebben, wordt een natuurlijk uiterlijk bij de transplantatie bereikt.

Dit is de fase waarin individuele haarzakjes door haarimplantatiespecialisten worden geïmplanteerd in de kanalen die door de gespecialiseerde expert worden geopend. Geduld is erg belangrijk tijdens dit proces. Nadat de transplantatie is voltooid, zorgt de gespecialiseerde arts voor de laatste controles en wordt het gebied waar de haarzakjes worden geplaatst bedekt met een kleine verband. Dit verband wordt de volgende dag verwijderd.
